  • Medical Consent Course Info

    This training equips foster parents with the knowledge and guidance necessary to make informed medical decisions for children in their care. The course covers legal responsibilities, consent processes, and documentation requirements for both routine and emergency medical care.

  • Normalcy Course Info

    This two-hour Normalcy Training helps foster parents promote age-appropriate, everyday experiences for children and youth in their care. The training focuses on making reasonable, informed decisions that allow foster children to participate in normal activities—such as school events and extracurriculars—while ensuring their safety and well-being.

  • Runaway Prevention Course Info

    Runaway Prevention Training equips foster parents with the tools to identify risk factors and early warning signs that may lead a child or youth to run away. The training emphasizes building trust, fostering a supportive home environment, and using proactive strategies to strengthen communication and emotional connections—helping promote safety, stability, and engagement in placement.

Please watch the assigned video and write a brief paragraph summarizing what you learned from the training. Email your completed summary to your Development Specialist and James. Certificates are not issued through the video link; a certificate will be created and provided by New Era Child Placement Agency.

    This training helps foster parents learn how to protect children and youth from online risks such as cyberbullying, identity theft, and online predators. It covers safe internet practices, monitoring tools, and strategies for teaching youth responsible digital behavior while maintaining privacy and security at home.

Emergency Preparedness


You do not need to create a separate emergency plan—New Era Child Placement Agency’s Disaster & Emergency Plan is updated annually and meets all requirements. Please do not pay the $50 fee; instead, use the coupon code “NewEra22” at checkout.

Emergency Preparedness Training (EPP) may be completed jointly by both foster parents. It is acceptable for only one parent’s name to appear on the completion certificate; both parents are not required to complete the training separately.
